At first look, it seems cumbersome and difficult to operate, but once you see the Ready Rig in action, it quickly becomes obvious how clever and useable the system really is. Once you set up the camera on the system, the rig supports the camera, and it seemingly just floats in front of you.
“…the roughly eight-pound camera felt almost perfectly counterbalanced and ready to “walk, run and fly.” The rig’s extraordinary flexibility enabled me to ease into canted camera shooting positions to the left or to the right…” (Read full review.)
“Now some cameramen have used shoulder mounted systems before, but most of those rigs you have to hold on to at all times. What if you didn’t, what if you could let go, open your phone or notepad and take notes? Well with the Ready Rig, you can do just that.” (Read full review.)
“…Designed for extreme versatility and flexibility in the field or studio…Users can switch angles instantaneously, push out or pull in, drop low or shoot high, pan from left to right, and tilt and rotate…” (Read full review.)
“This shoulder-based rig works with small and medium cameras to provide a solid shooting platform, with a wide range of shooting angles from low to high, left to right, even upside down!” (Read full review.)
Users can switch out angles instantaneously…Push out or pull in, drop low, shoot high, pan from left to right, tilt and rotate, and even pull focus and zoom simultaneously.
We brought the ready rig to camera prep and it was awesome! perfect rig for what we are doing! we had the canon c300 with cooke s4/i lenses. I was like ‘this camera is designed for this rig.
I wore it for 2 1/2 + 1 hours without a break & had no fatigue at the end of the day. I have always had lower back problems & by wearing the rig set right down over my hips, I ended the day aok! Congratulations on a fine product.
…Got a chance to really run the ready rig through the rigors of a on the fly event and really like the way it preformed…Easy to balance for the EX 3. I was able to capture scenes of the entire day’s event all from the ready rig without getting fatigued…Got the hang of it right away! Shots are real steady!” – Jim Kinsey, Executive Producer Skull Bound TV
The Ready Rig provides so much flexibility, range and freedom in the field, I can lock focus, look at the person I’m interviewing, and actually have an engaging conversation, which you typically cannot do without having the help of a crew. But, with the Ready Rig, I can adjust my lighting while I’m talking, I can experiment with different angles. All in all, it gave me much more confidence in being able to shoot all by myself.
Thank God for Ready Rig. Not sure how I could shoot without a Ready Rig. I was recently loaned one by a friend for a video shoot. I found it to be a combination of a shoulder rig, and a steady cam (For those of us that can’t operate one and don’t want to spend a ton of money.)
A back saver. This unit makes it possible to do extended video work without totally reaching exhaustion from fatigue. It also makes your shots a lot more stable.
I love this thing! …I’ve usually got my rig in my hands for a couple of hours straight…The whole thing is around 12 pounds. Doesn’t sound like much weight, but I was doing it hand-held using a Shape Paparazzi Pro rig. It was hard to go more than 10 minutes without having to stop and set the rig down for a second. But last night I assembled my entire rig on the Ready Rig. Then Iwalked around with it on for about an hour. Afterwards I fooled around and shot 30 minutes of footage. Felt GREAT! I was fresh and feeling like I could shoot for hours with the Ready Rig! Great job guys!
Incredibly versatile camera support. I don’t usually rave about gear, but this rig takes the cake. It is absolutely terrific for shooting events where you might otherwise get fatigued from holding the camera all day. You can take the camera way up high or down to knee level for a low shot without any of the usual strain on your back or shoulders due to the rod system that transfers most of the weight to your hips.
I’ve used the rig a few times now for various commercial shoots and am very happy with it. You guys have a great product and your support is outstanding. Carry on!!!
I shot in neurosurgery with the RR for the first time and it was great despite the nurses’ jokes about my new “crazy contraption.” The rig allows me to move around the surgeon, reposition the camera quickly, and get very steady shots. Most importantly, I’m able to extent the camera to a high position and tilt down steeply getting the shooting angles I need. What surprised me most was how great my back felt after the shoot. No more long recovery times from lower back pain! The rig preformed exactly as I had hoped and it is well worth the investment.
I have a really bad back and bad right shoulder. I was able to wear the rig for over 2 hours with no issues at all. I’m certain I could keep it on for 4 or 5 hours and not get too fatigued. There is absolutely no other device that I could achieve this with.
